Welcome Rudso There are a lot of balisongs out there. My very first one was a Jaguar, which is a knock off of the benchmade - a much more expensive piece. I like my Jag. It has always performed well. You might save a lot of money by perusing your local pawn shops. I was able to pick up a mint condition Benchmade 42 for 60.00 - a very good price.

I like the m-techs I got to swing one around a little and it seemed solid enough, and price is acceptable. _________________ WHAT WE DO IN LIFE, ECHO'S IN ETERNITY! |

Anthony-The M-Techs are nice but if they are played with alot the will come apart easily they just don't hold up to alot of Flipping. Also you might try a Master Butterfly i have 3 or 4 and they flip real well alot better than the M-Tech and will last longer.Of course if you want the ultimate in Butterfly knives you have to get a Benchmade or a Spyderco Spyderfly. But the prices are knida high on those to bad i don't have one of each But i do have a Genuine Filipino Custom Made Balisong From the Batangas being made for me right now by my Friend who Hand Crafts them in the Philippines. Can't wait to get that one

My thought on the M-techs is that we were still talking about a first bali. I'd still have to stick with "Balisongs" (or any knives) between $20.00 and $40.00. It gets too spendy to be fun at more than or even close to a C-note each. I don't know how much the really high end models go for but I wouldn't want to end up a $80.00 square handled Bali and fall in love with a $15.00 round handled P.O.S..
Besides you guy's taught me to take my time and figure out what trips your release button before blowing the monthly blade funds on a single knife until you know exactly what it is you want. _________________ WHAT WE DO IN LIFE, ECHO'S IN ETERNITY! |

Anthony-No No don't get me wrong the M-Tech is a very good beginner bali no problems there.I didn't word my post properly what i meant was when you get better at flipping pick you up a Master and try one of them they are a step above the M-Tech and can usually be bought for under $20.00 buck dollars

Magnum, No problems, I didn't realize the Masters could be had so cheap and if they're put together better, then I'd have to agree with you.

| as far as I'm concerned the master balisongs are top notch, they are solid flip fast and hold up very well,I have a microtech dragonfly that is my favorite bali but the masters are by far the best for the price.my only gripe is that they are on the heavy side and do tend to bite your finger's. |

Biting is BAD! I prefer a nibble
Seriously, the masters sound like a decent investment and differences mean choices, I didn't mean to leave out any one particular manufacturer. But, I can only relay my experience with the M-tech as a affordable Bali. I've had others (I have the scars to prove it! ) but of the cheap ones I've had, I really never knew the Manufacturer.

The masters are the closest you'll come to the expensive modles without paying the expensive price. |

| Balisong tricks are great fun if done with some cautiousness. Go to balisonxtreme.com. The dude has great videos on how to do many maneuvers. |
