i get curious and wonder, just where do we pick up our sign in names and what do they mean...

and our avatars...some are obvious and others?????

any one care to share the info??

i can start...my sign in name is a short variation of "sharon" the one my dad picked for me...

my avatar, which i change frequently, usually is a variation of an old lady or a witch....cause i is one.... Laughing

Mine is not so inventive....... Anthony is my name and 6869 is my birthdate. My avatar which I can't seem to load at this time was a pistol and cuffs I use both every day at work.......err rather I carry both everyday at work! I was gonna switch to a southparked version of me, but like I said Now I can't seem to get the avatar to work! anyway I'll keep trying

well, everybody already knows my name is Ed but Butch is a name I picked up as a little kid in tyhe hospital,my avatar is usaly a wolf because I just plain love them.

In ninth grade, I had a science teacher who was about 107 years old and just couldn't remember names. He tried to remember mine and ended up sort of smashing my first and last names together and twisting it a bit and ended up calling me Jarvis. I haven't used it since then.

I'm a long-time piano player who started playing the accordion as an old fart adult. Thus the accordion-themed avatars. If I ever get my avatar back........... Mad

Well, let'see......I picked "Straydog" for two reasons, #1 , sometimes I just feel like one ,( ahhh, poor straydog Crying or Very sad

) .....

#2 I feel a straydog is somewhat of a surviver !
I picked a Basset hound for a avatar 'cause I think their the "coolest" dog on the planet ! .......Did I mention I own one?....or rather she owns me ! Wink

Well let me see here.My forum name magnum comes from my passion of Big Bore Magnum Powered Revolvers of which i own a few Very Happy

My avatar with the Indian and Wolf comes from me being part Indian and My Love of Wolves also Very Happy

My forum name "Chidog" is for chihuahua dog, of which I own (or do they own me?) two, along with a bassett hound. The chihuahuas are the "inside" dogs whilst the bassett is (sometimes) the outside dog. My avatar is a penguin which is the symbol of the Libertarian Party, of which I'm a long-time proud member.

As far as avatars go..... I still haven't took the time to figure out how to put one up except for the ones you can pick on this site.

Whippersnapper was just the first thing that came to my mind when I first found Bladeplay. It just had a switchin' kind of ring to it.

My user name that I use on the auction sites and a few other places is "foxhopper", so if you see that, don't outbid me! Laughing

my succession of avatars have been based on the blade in movies theme. but i've come full circle back to the psycho av cause he just looks really edgy.

Well I adopted "Wombat" after a few weeks of being "David" (just plain dull).

I wanted a name that would suggest my home country (although I was born in London) and the wombat is an enigmatic, solitary nocturnal creature of chunky build with sharp claws - harmless unless you realy piss it off... it felt right Wink

My usual avitar was just the best photo of a wombat I could find in a google search- he looked relaxed and contemplative Wink

My current avitar was a result of trying to represent myself in SthPark style.

There's also a standard joke about my sig... In Aus a "root" is what mummys and daddys do when they love eachother very much... Wink

Well, I think everyone knows by now that I'm 'Picker' because I'm a guitarist. Actually, when I first went on the net, a friend of mine suggested it and it sounded good enuff, so here I am.

Like Magnum, I identify with the wolf also, which is why I picked 'Dreamerwolf' for my Craft name. Being a 'dreamer' and a practicioner of the occult, it felt right.

As for avatars, I pick something that suits me or feels cool for awhile, but sooner or later I get bored with the same one and change it... Very Happy

i've been away for a few days, and this seemed like a good topic to chime in on as i was getting caught up.

i always kind of liked, or sort of related to the abuse of power in george orwell's book '1984'. the main character in that book is named winston smith. when computers started becoming common, i liked the kind of tongue-in-cheek use of that name and use it as my e-mail address and login in several forums.

as far as avatars go, i (sniff, sniff) don't know if i have enough posts to get one, and never really was worried enough to check it out. although i do like looking at most of the other ones, since i've always been able to correlate them to what i (think i) know of you guys.

go to your profile and it will tell you what size to upload and go find you an avatar that you like that size and load it up Cool
