A bit slow around here this morning so I thought I'd hit you experts with a serious question.
Over at B/A there are a couple of 15 inch stils that are called "Falcons". They have a little medalion on the front scale that supposedly states such. So what's the scoop on these? Italian made? Who, what, when???? Any good???
Inquiring minds.

I think I can help with this one..
To the very best of my knowledge all the big knives (15's and 18's) are produced by A.G.A. Campolin who own Falcon knives ... Angelo jr. (grandson of Angelo Campolin the owner) runs AKC who market many of them ... it's quite likely that they also supply Fox with their big ones... they certainly supply Frank Beltrame who in turn supplies Knifeshop and sells direct from his website.
All the best

Thanks, Teddy
So, let's see if I got this right. Falcon is like a marketing company? Not like a brand name? So, would one expect these "Falcons" to be the same quality as any normal Campolon? Or maybe like seconds? Have you seen these marked as such, before, Teddy. Or is this something new?

Just about EVERY name we know is a marketing company ... the only names we're familiar with that actually MAKE some of the knives they sell are A.G.A. Campolin (Falcon knives) and Frank Beltrame.. I would imagine even Massaro and Fox are just marketing companies.. the cottage industry co-operative produces just about everything
Falcon knives have been around for donkey's years and probably buy in some of their products also but I'm fairly certain that grandad Campolin is the owner and is definitely the maker of the big ones.. the prices seem to vary quite a bit from one supplier to another but apparently the quality is consistent throughout.. (it may be that Campolin supply the basic bits to other shops for assembly... I just don't know ) ..it's very difficult to be certain about these things because the Italians don't want us to know and keep adding to the confusion.
All the best

Teddy-You are correct the Campolin's do own Falcon and do make the big 18" and 15" stiletto's.I like these for the medallion that's inlaid in them So i feel like in my opinion that the Campolin's are producing these knives
